I have been with Microsoft since 2002, but I have been with Dynamics even longer, starting out with a Dynamics NAV partner in 1992. I currently lead the Partner Programs team in the US Dynamics organization and look forward to keeping in touch with the US Dynamics Partner Community on this blog.
Wondering what the hot topics are for the month of August? Worried you have to sift through volumes of articles on various websites? Don’t worry. We have answers. This new Microsoft Dynamics GP Existing Customer campaign launched earlier this month.
Microsoft Dynamics GP customers on a current plan were sent a direct mail highlighting how they can "Drive their Business Forward" by extending the capabilities of their current solution with an investment in the following: A License Model Transition (LMT) (MBL customers only), À la carte modules or Light User licenses.
The campaign elements include: direct mail, campaign landing pages, Ready-to-Go partner templates, Banners, Webcasts and offers (available from time to time). A sample of both mail versions were also sent to Microsoft Dynamics GP partners.
We encourage you to leverage this campaign to drive conversations with your customers around how they can extend their current solution. The "Drive your Business Forward" theme is one we will be using throughout the year.

Last fiscal year we introduced an innovative approach to communicating a variety of new initiatives and programs for Microsoft Dynamics partners to learn about and implement within their organizations. Because of the collaborative format of these web seminars / conference calls, and the positive partner feedback we have chosen to continue these sessions throughout FY12.
Join and participate in the Microsoft Dynamics Partner Community Interactive MicroSessions.
What is an IMS?
Primarily targeted toward United States based Community Managed Partners (unmanaged partners, tele-managed partners, and new partners), IMS is an interactive, one to few MicroSession dedicated to enabling partners to grow their business. Live sessions are hosted monthly.
What can you expect in an IMS?
You will get the latest business insights, Microsoft news, offer updates, sales and marketing updates, readiness, tools and resources, Existing Customer updates, Microsoft Partner Network updates along with the irreplaceable insights from your fellow partners. Within the hour-long web seminar, we dedicate the opening 30 to 45 minutes to an interactive presentation, and the remaining 15 to 20 minutes to freeform Q&A and discussion driven by you, the partner.

Our research indicates that our most successful and profitable partners are ISVs and VARs that have a deep understanding of the vertical requirements, business processes, and business challenges of their prospects. Similar to years past, Microsoft will continue to identify, brand and promote partners who are investing in vertical expertise, and delivering a vertical value proposition to win deals.

Did you know that according to a recent Forrester report, 77% of B2B technology decision makers are active on a social media site? If you’re not yet reaching prospects and customers through social media – you’re missing out. In a recent survey of Microsoft Dynamics partners, time and content were the most cited reasons preventing partners from taking advantage of this powerful way to connect with your prospects and customers.
Last year the Microsoft Dynamics marketing team had 34 partners participate in a piloted a program to deliver rich, relevant social media content to prospects through a platform called Nurture Butterfly. Due to the impressive results and rave reviews from participating partners, we’re making big investments in providing customer centric social media content (over 10,000 "snippets" for the year across all products and priority Industries) and offering the program out to all Microsoft Dynamics partners in FY12.
This solution will give you the content you need to be relevant and informative, in a time investment of 30 minutes a week. Nurture Butterfly is for ALL Microsoft Dynamics partners – regardless of your current experience with social media. For partners with no social presence – it helps you get a program off the ground quickly. For experienced partners, you’ll be able to integrate rich content as well as features such as quick polls and lead generation into your existing programs.
