The first of our quarterly feature updates for Windows Embedded Standard 7 SP1 is now available on ECE. This update contains two new features-Enhanced Write Filter Provider and File Based Write Filter Provider.
These new components provide access to the respective Write Filter API through the Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) layer. The goal of each feature is to expose the full functionality of the Write Filter to all .NET languages as well as to the Windows Scripting Host. Furthermore, the Write Filter Providers enables remote management of the Enhanced Write Filter or File Based Write Filter.
The new features are rolled into the Window Embedded Standard 7 SP1 March 2011 Feature Update .
Were are our WES7 SP1 language packs? Wil they be released soon?
Language packs for applying directly to the runtime have been available on ECE since March 9th - ece.partners.extranet.microsoft.com/.../DistOEM-WinEmbStndrd7SP1ImgUpd32bitProdDnld.htm
The language packs for importing into the DS are already in the release channel (available now on Microsoft OEM Online (MOO) for direct OEMs and are in the queue for going live on ECE- there is no current ETA as it depends on how many other downloads are in that team's queue but it usually takesy 3-7 days from when we RTM.
To Embedded Team:
Could you please release the language packs for the open downloads? because not everyone has an ECE account.
i want to say thank you for a great job you've done on your blog.
I have a software download website and I also write articles for people to help them with their computers and software. Is it possible to place this article on your blog as a guest post?
Our team's blog is focused specifically on all things related to Windows Embedded Standard or XP Embedded, or on interesting things happening in the embedded industry. As such, we prefer not to reference non-embedded content, but we appreciate your interest.
