Outlook CRM 4.0 client in combination with Office 2010 64 bit

Outlook CRM 4.0 client in combination with Office 2010 64 bit

As Office 2010 is now available in the market we received the compatibility/supportability question multiple times.

There are no plans to support CRM 4.0 Outlook client in combination with Office 2010 64 bit. CRM 4.0 Outlook client will only be supported with the Office 32 bit version.

Kind regards,
CRM Team

  • This doesn't make sense and is completely unacceptable.

  • What a disapointment CRM team! So I have a 64 bit os and now a 64 bit office 2010, but minus CRM 4 . What are you waiting for CRM 5.0?

  • Seems bizarre, not to support 64bit !

And more bizarre having no intention to do so, the big selling point was its integration with Outlook.

  • Agree with previous comments. Not a wise descision in a comettative market.

  • Why not ??? We have multiple customers who are migrating to Office 2010 64 bit and we can't offer them  a working CRM Outlook Plugin ? You are letting the Microsoft Crm Partners down big time !

    Damn ...

  • Nice, leave it to Microsoft to make even their own products not support 64 bit (CRM Outlook client). Even though CRM, Windows and Outlook are all their products. Not like we are dealing with a 3rd party Vendor here. Not to mention 47% of Windows 7 installations are 64bit.

  • Outrage, forcing people to go to CRM5. MS should be ashamed of themselves, pissing on their customers like this.....

  • Yeah really what a joke. Keep up the good work Microsoft!

  • Is it true ? How Microsoft expect to partners develop xRM apps based on Dynamics CRM with decisions like that ?

  • Outlook 32-bit is supported. You can still use 32-bit of office 2010 (or 2007) on Windows 7 x64 in combination with CRM 4.0 Client. Outlook 64-bit is a new technology and it was to expect, that it won't support everything from a beginning. At the moment, unless you are really heavy Outlook user with tenths of GB mailbox and if you are not using Excel / Access for some really big and serious data digging, better stick with Outlook 2010 32-bit. ;)

  • I'd rather not have the Outlook integration and work in IE than uninstalling Office2010 64bit...!

When I need the Outlook integration - untill it works with Office2010 64bit - I use remote desktop to a computer with old-school Office2007 32bit and CRM integration ...

What's the point in developing anything in this world, when you prefer no-one to take the first steps...???!??!!

  • lol, can't believe they just straight up said no to it.

    We the people ...

  • To say this is idiotic is an euphenism. At least have the decensy to give us a more elaborate answer instead of this press-like statement which a 6 years old could do better.
