Due to personal obligations (moving away from Seattle) it is with sadness that I’m announcing that I’m leaving Microsoft. My last day at Microsoft will be January 21. This will be the last post on this blog. I will be commencing to blog at EricWhite.com/blog. Here is what I'm planning for the near future on my new blog:
I want to say thanks to all the folks with whom I’ve worked. Microsoft is filled with brilliant, hardworking people, and it is an honor to have worked with you. While here, I have had the chance to work on some of the coolest technology in the world: LINQ to XML, Open XML, Office, and SharePoint. You guys rock!
Over the years, I have regularly talked with many of you (both inside and outside of Microsoft) about Open XML – explaining markup and suggesting approaches to the design of solutions. I really enjoy sharing what I’ve learned, so please continue to contact me with questions via email, or if you want to chat by phone, I’m happy to do so by appointment. I also enjoy discussing Office or SharePoint development. Contact me at eric at ericwhite.com.
Connect with me on LinkedIn, or follow me on twitter.
good luck in your new adventure, looking forward to more quality material from your new blog
Eric, I was going to say you will be sorely missed in the Open XML space, but I now look forward to your new blog. You are doing a fantastic service to those using Open XML. Best of luck and please keep it up! (on a side note, I moved out of Seattle four months ago and am enjoying the -4F weather of Alaska compared to the 300 dreary days of gray and drizzle in Seattle).
Cheers,
Otaku
Thanks Otaku - I'm excited about doing some cool stuff with Open XML. Looking forward to connecting on my new blog.

It was really a great fun to work with you in Microsoft and look forward to your new blog. Your blog/inputs always helped me to learn something new on Open XML. I have also started learning SharePoint and my learning curve is going to be from desktop dev to web dev so enjoying the challenge!
Good luck!!
Hi Anders, Raja, Julien, Ankush, Thanks for the best wishes. The next few months are filled with the mentioned blogging projects - I'm really looking forward to rolling up my sleaves and coding again.
