For my first post on my new blog, I’m proud to annonce the availability of a new sample on

You can now get the full source of Babylon, the 3D engine I wrote to demonstrate the power of Silverlight 3D.

Live example can be found here:

In a near future, I will create a new Codeplex entry for Babylon to allow the community to develop on it.

  • Hi

I wanted to look at the Babylon 3D engine. I have VS 2010 ver 10.0.40219.1 SP1 with Silverlight 5 beta installed. The solution compiles fine but attempting to run gives this err?

    Line: 54

Error: Unhandled Error in Silverlight Application

    Code: 2103

    Category: InitializeError

Message: Invalid or malformed application: Check manifest

  • Do you use IE9 or another browser?

  • Hi. Are you going to release a format description of the BSF files? We can reverse engineer that from the source code, but I read on Aaron's blog that you've written a 3DS Max exporter already? Any chance more info on this will appear in the near future?

    Thanks for the cool demo.

  • I will release soon the project used to produce BSF. It uses a tool call Nova ( with free SDK that allows me to export scene from 3dsmax into a cool object model.

  • The code on integrates now the Importer. Feel free to download it.

  • yes very cool, thanks for posting code. Is there a live example link? if not do you mind if I deploy one for a blog post I'm working on?

  • Good idea.

I updated the post to link to a live example :)
