Mitch Denny was one of the attendees of a recent training session we ran in Sydney.
He has written up his experiences, and it's a nice read - Day 1, Day 2
I couldn't resist so I took a photo of him sitting amongst the boxes in the office.

The blogosphere is abuzz from the Microsoft announcements at Gnomedex 5.0, relating to Longhorn, IE7 and RSS.
Robert Scoble has done a good job as the human aggregator to summarise some of the reactions on the news.
I expect to get a call on monday from management to explain what this all means. Maybe I should just point them to the What, the How, the Why.
Speaking of monday, we have Steve Ballmer visiting Australia on monday, meeting customers, partners and staff. (We had Bill visit this time last year). I wonder if Steve will mention this news? Especially since he dissed RSS recently? Maybe I should get my question in before the event.
Anyways, I am delighted with the news. From Browse to Search to Subscribe. This is going to be HUGE

James has been recently wondering why "Microsoft, in their infinite wisdom, has decided to provide helper code in both C# & VB.Net that promotes bad OOP coding". He has a whole post outlining the problem as he sees it.
He pinged me this evening on Skype to draw my attention to his post and to get my advice on how to raise awareness of this issue within the Visual Studio Product team.
I pointed him to the MSDN Product Feedback Center, as this is *the* place to make suggestions or report bugs. The product team does look at stuff posted to the feedback center. We can't be promoting bad OOP coding. This doesn't seem right
Alternatively, we can mention Scoble in a blog post and see what shakes out.

While I have been away, my team members have been keeping themselves busy, which is encouraging since they are all big boys now and don't require adult supervision at all times.
My newest recruit, David Lemphers, has been running FREE sessions in Melbourne, which provide a lap around the latest Beta 2 of VSTS 2005, for the lunch time crowd which have been really popular. So popular in fact he will be running another FREE session next week June 22nd. The last session filled up in 3 days, so get in early and register now. Obviously, this is only relevant if you are based in Melbourne, that goes without saying really, but I thought it best to mention it again.
If you aren't based in Melbourne, but you would like to see these sessions run in your town - I would recommend you let us know. This is the geographic breakdown for my team. They would love to hear from you :)
