One of the really cool things from the recent Windows Live Local update is Windows Live Local for Microsoft Outlook, an add-in for Outlook that sucks in information from WLL, including maps, driving directions, travel times etc
Windows Live Local for Outlook enables you to add maps and directions to your Outlook meeting requests, calculate the travel distance between your start location and your appointment location, adjust your meeting departure time based on the estimated travel time, store custom locations, as well as print the map and step-by-step driving directions to take with you on the road.

The WLL dev team have pushed out a big update with lots of new features. The one feature that *I* like is the fact that there is *finally* Australian street data
Here's a quick screen grab with some of my important places
Time to go back to Via Virtual Earth and do some reading on how to get started and I better go to the Virtual Earh blog for more info too
Let the mash ups begin!!

More about the solution direct from the author
"An application that tracks the relationships between friends and business associates. Each person would be represented by a circle which would change size based on a point value determined by factors such as the amount of interactions and the importance of these interactions. Linking the circles would be a line that also conveys the strength of the relationship; based on a combination of the last interaction date and the relationship length to give the user an indication of how healthy the relationship currently is. There could be as many links as the user wanted—for example, I know someone called Matt, Matt has a friend named James that I’ve seen around but not too often. I wouldn’t say I know James but I know of him. The program could link James to Matt, who is linked to me. I could then update James’s circle when I learned something about him or we ran into each other. The application would allow the user to enter as much data about the person as they saw fit."-Neil Bamber

This morning I woke up not feeling the best.
My eyes were stuck together - always a bad sign. Moira sent me to our local GP who confirmed what I suspected - a case of Conjunctivitis, also commonly known as "pinkeye", and a chest infection
(pictorial proof).
So, the down side of this is that I have had to cancel my trip to Wellington for Webstock.
I am really disappointed about this.
Nic Wise posted about Getting good coffee at WebStock and a few pointers about WiFi in Wellington. I was looking forward to sharing an expresso with Nic, and partaking in The trans-Tasman, Tim-Tam, Chit-Chat taste-off.
Sorry I wont be in town. That said, I'm sure Webstock will rock!! I'll be watching the Webs*ckr blog

Head on over to the Tech.Ed 2006 site for Pricing & Early Bird Registraton and try and spot some of the other faces. Leave me a comment if you recognize these folks : 1, 2, 3

I like meme trackers.
The front page of Beta Gnoos today has some interest thought floating about which I feel compelled to comment on.
2 of the Top Searches are about the recent resignation of ninemsn CEO, Martin Hoffman
2 of the Hot Tags are about the recent Eurovision Song Content
What an interesting juxtaposition.
