To be fair (or because misery loves company), the broadband situation here in New Zealand is equally disgraceful (or laughable if you're in a philosophical frame of mind).
I think of it as not so much broadband as "slightlychubbyband".
Broadband is the only technology I know of that has actually got slower of the years. While CPU's, GPU's, HDD's and RAM double every 3 years Broadband which started as dark fibre at 10mb/s has gone down to 256KB/s. Maybe we need a new catchy term ;) Save me please!
The Australian government should be a little more worried about young people leaving for more wired locations. It's holding us back as a nation and as citizens.
