I am on holidays at the moment, but I got a notification that Jeff Sandquist tagged me.

Looks like there is a tagging meme going on - someone tags you and asks you to reveal 5 things that folks probably doesn't know about you and then you tag 5 other bloggers with the same task.

Ok, I shall take on the challenge.....

1. I was born 9 months and 9 days after my parents were married.
2. I was engaged at 21 to a girl who was 2 years older than me, but we split up after I found her in a compromising position with another suitor
3. I love Vegemite on my toast for breakfast (or any another time)
4. My mother died of cancer, 20 years ago, and she is interred at Cheltenham Memorial Park
5. I was the official statistician for Christian Brothers' College, East St Kilda First XVIII, which included Eddie McGuire on the team

T'was the Flash before Christmas, and all through DPE
No evangelist was resting, not even me

For we had another edition to do
I couldn't leave work 'til I was through

No editor's note written, no articles to pick
No offers, no downloads, I was feeling quite sick

If only I'd written something last week
I could relax and enjoy being a geek

I've had to skip meetings with each of my team
Coatsy, Kleefy, Chucky, JeffA, the Daves -- By now you'll know exactly who I mean

So, instead I sit here writing, alone at this stage
When all of a sudden I've filled up a page

Now the editor's note is done, I feel full of cheer
So have a Merry Christmas, speak to you next year

I'm driving home tonight, following my crazy day, listening to PM on ABC Local Radio, catching up on the latest Warnie news, and I hear Mark Colvin interview Steve Vamos

Australian whiz bound for US Microsoft gig

One of Australia's top information technology executives is moving on to bigger things. Steve Vamos runs Microsoft Australia and New Zealand, but soon he'll be leaving for the United States to run Microsoft's international online services. That means he'll be in charge of things like hotmail, the msn network and the new windows live. But before he goes, he wants Australia to be more aware of the need for innovation in the wired and globalised world.

You would think that as the year draws to a close, the level of activity would also draw to a close.

Wrong.

Today my morning started at 8am and I didn't stop until 6pm - even lunch was grabbed on the run.

Interviews, Internal Meetings, Customer Meetings, even a fire drill filled the day.

I got a txt during the day asking if I was ok, since I hadn't done done a blog post for over 24 hours - kinda like the Japanese i-pot which provides a quite monitoring of elderly people in Japan - my blog posting is a status check o fmy health. If Frank doesnt blog for 24 hours - something must be wrong.

One more day and then I'm shutting down for a week.

I love my K-JAM. I use it obsessively.

I use it to check my email, to read my feeds and to get the information that's important to me.
