Almost a year ago, I first read about and wrote about Pleo
Back in July I put in a pre-order
And this week, it arrived
As Emma would say - "Soooo cute"
Emma named her Cleo.
Cleo will soon have her own PLOG
It's raining with a strong likely hood of snow in the coming days
I'm taking some time off, I'll be back in January
And since I am now living in America - Here's wishing you all Happy Holidays
The panel I proposed for MIX 08 has been accepted.
The name has been tweaked a bit
Web 2.0 and beyond -- What is the Business Reality?
As has the abstract
While Web 2.0 and beyond sites are built on the family of technologies that encompass it are undeniably cool, the question remains -- how can one make money off it? Join us as well known Web 2.0 firms debate the revenue model in this brave new world.
But the premise is still the same - that there is more than advertising money to be made in the Web 2.0 space
I have sent some invites to some Web luminaries, and I am looking forward to hearing back from them
Plus, my questions remains - Who would YOU love to hear from?
Can't wait to get to Vegas!
Excerpt from New York Times Article:A Chapter of ‘Jackass’ as Web Testhttp://www.nytimes.com/2007/12/13/business/media/13movie.html
LOS ANGELES — Paramount Pictures is lurching ontothe Web with its “Jackass” franchise, with what it says will be thefirst studio-backed feature film to have its premiere online. And the studiohopes the result will be considerably more pleasurable than the old MTVshow’s trademark shot to the groin — perhaps by paving the way formore profit-making Web-only material.
MY COMMENT:
This bit of news didn’t make it to the NYT

I felt this happening to me earlier in the year and I wrote a post about it back in April : Blogging takes a back seat to twitter and then in May : Twitter Continues to Rule My Attention
We spoke about Twitter the recent workshop I facilitated as a great way to connect with people.
Seems like this discussion is gaining ground all over the place. Nick Hodge refers to this as The Immersive Conversation.
Me ? - I just like it because it's quick and easy and with tools like Tweet Scan, I can quickly see what's going on
Whoa.
While writing the last post, I just realised I passed a BIG milestone.
Just over FOUR years ago on December 3, 2003 - I made my first post here.
Some up to date stats:
It's been a big 12 months for me, which included a change of job. And I've shared most of the journey on this blog.
Here's to another 12 months!!!
Last week I was in Texas, facilitating a workshop on Evangelism Excellence.
It was an internal audience and I got to meet a great group of evangelists from across the US, as well as Latin America.
One of the topics we covered was blogging and we had a really good discussion of the pros, cons and other gotchas in the world of new media. Twitter even got a mention!
I told some of my blogging stories from my days in Australia
Now, I meant to do this last week, but things got a bit hectic for me. I wanted to give a shout out (as well as some link love) to the folks I met last week
For the others on the course - I tried to find your blogs but I failed. Leave me a comment and I will update the list.
It was a pleasure working with y'all.
