Documents and process based applications are easy to build with SharePoint. In order to extend the circle of users to practitioners who are less familiar with SharePoint, it is possible to work with Word or with a form instead of directly interacting with SharePoint. It is also possible to use Silverlight or WPF to completely change the user experience. The video below shows a quick example of how to set up Word documents as templates for data collection allowing a practitioner to interact with SharePoint through Word document with Content Controls or using a form.
