On top of the standard spatial metaphor (site-subsite-library-folder) for saving documents, SharePoint2010 and Office2010 allow to save documents based on metadata. The Content Organizer routes documents to the correct site/library/folder based on the document properties. This allows the use of an Information Architecture that leverages both the management boundaries of the spatial metaphor (Site/Library/Folder) and Metadata profiling approach providing more choices in supporting business process.
