Slight diversion from the world of modeling to say that my Roku M1000 Soundbridge arrived this morning.
I've been hanging my nose over a network music player for what seems like an age and I finally decided to take the plunge. At first there were very few devices that played WMA (which most of my CD collection is ripped to). Then once that had changed, the server-side music delivery software looked to be pretty poor for most devices (requiring you to have a permanently logged-in client PC in most cases) . Happily the Roku is one of the first to support the new Windows Media Connect protocol and also supports a couple of other run-as-service style applications from other vendors so I should have some choice.
Now if only I wasn't flying out of the country tomorrow morning I'd have time to set it all up - dang!
