Windows Marketplace for Mobile will be available for both 'Windows Mobile 6.5' and 'Windows Phone 7 Series'. So the $99 is in fact waived for both with the following....

· The mobile marketplace only accepts 'Windows Mobile 6.5' applications today for all users, this isn’t a student specific thing. (since Windows 7 Phone 7 is in pre-release - CTP).
· If you register today, your account will still be good when the marketplace accepts 'Windows Phone 7 Series' applications. In fact, students won’t have to go through the registration process, so getting setup today will actually get you ahead
