Visual Studio 2005 Standard Edition

Visual Studio 2005 Standard Edition

Announced this week at VSLive! in Orlando, Microsoft will be offering a new version of Visual Studio, one that will hopefully provide a good starting point for Visual Basic and Web developers getting started in the professional development world. With the addition of the new Visual Studio 2005 Standard Edition, on top of the previously announced Express Editions, there will be a Visual Studio tool available for every developer, with every budget.

Yes, I know that sounds like a marketing pitch...but it's also true. Check out the announcement, and learn for yourself. ;-)

  • I think MS should follow the Eclipse (www.eclipse.org) model. The core tool itself should be free. It should charge for the add-ons like Websphere Studio does.
