So community guru and ultimate connected geek Julie Lerman was traveling through my neighborhood on the way to snowy Vermont, and having flight issues decided to hang out with my family overnight. It's always great to have a surprise visit from a friend, but it also gave me a chance to show off one of my low-tech (or at least non-electronic) gadgets.
A month or two ago, I heard about an interesting coffee gadget called the Aerobie (yes, as in flying disk) AeroPress. It's a gadget that looks like a big fat syringe with a filter cap instead of a needle, and it makes some of the best coffee I've ever tasted. Considering the fact that Julie was coming from Seattle, the home of Starbucks, the fact that my coffee was notable enough to make her blog suggests that this gadget is something for coffee lovers to check out. And I was brewing Costco-brand (Kirkland) coffee, so it's not like you have to use super-premium high-end beans.
Starbucks? Nope! It's Vermont Coffee Company coffee that sets the bar for me. That's higher even than Starbucks! (www.vermontcoffeecompany.com) :-)
P.S. I actually made it home! Thanks again.
