  • Monday, September 22, 2008 7:00 PM: DC-MD-VA Microsoft Robotics Studio Group - MRDS Workshop 2. We all know there is some complexity using Microsoft Robotic Developer Studio (MRDS). However, once you learn some basic patterns, it all falls into place. In this workshop, we will kickoff two projects from scratch. Those who participate will see how easy it is to build robots using this technology once the basics are understood.

Andrew Duthie on Geocoding and Mapping - Geocoding, RSS, and Mapping, oh my!, - Take a trip into the wonderful world of geolocation with Microsoft Developer Evangelist G. Andrew Duthie. Andrew will explore the use of such technologies as Windows Live Maps and RSS as data sources for geolocation, geocoding via the MapPoint Web Service, and mapping out geolocated data with the Virtual Earth Map control (including the recently previewed ASP.NET Virtual Earth Server Control).   • Wednesday, September 24, 2008 7:00 PM: FredNUG September Meeting: Inaugural Meeting - Our first monthly meeting has been scheduled for Wednesday, 9/24 from 7:00pm to 8:30pm at the Urbana Regional Library in the Community Room. Ryan Beach will be discuss NET Managed/Unmanaged Code Interoperability and John Blumenauer will discuss WPF and Unit Testing using the Model View Controller (MVC) Pattern.

  • Wednesday, September 24, 2008 7:00 PM: DC ALT.NET - Building ASP.NET MVC Applications with Troy Goode - The September meeting for DC ALT.NET will be on September 24th, 2008 from 7PM-9PM. This month, Troy Goode will present on building applications with ASP.NET MVC. This will be a basic introduction, but also how to build practical applications, such as a blog engine using MVC.

    • Actually, I'm not going to be able to make it this Thursday to the Meet and Code.  I already notified Justin of this and he said they would most likely go over some of the existing ASP.NET MVC sample apps and have some more discussion over it.
