My status for the 71-519 showed "tested" and today I was sent an email showing that I have basically a free test for 70-519. I guess that meant there were problems with the beta and we need to do it again? Or was something else the matter? This has never happened to me before.

Prometric still says me "Tested" status for my beta 71-519. Are all beta results finished now or not?

Hi Gerry,

Are all of the .NET 4.0 Beta results in now? I know lots of people have received their result for 511 but for me the Prometric site still says "Tested". Are there any results still outstanding at your end or will this be down to Prometric?

Hi Gerry,

I just got back from *attempting* to take the beta exam for the 71-515 exams. I arrived at the test centre half an hour early but two hours later was eventually told "computer says no!", apparently the daily extract job didn't run! I've had similar experiences with Prometric before but never this bad. I can't now reschedule the beta as the period ends soon and I have other commitments during that time - does the Microsoft test provider undergo review? I've also experienced a pretty poor user experience when trying to use their website to book tests. It seems a bit of a contradiction that exams focusing on all the slick new cutting edge tech from Microsoft is being provided by a company who seem to have employed a high school kid to write their admin system as a "my first application"?

Sorry if this sounds a bit a ranty and I realise its not Microsoft's fault in anyway but after studying hard for three days and taking time off earning its all been wasted :-( (well not wasted, I have learned all the stuff but that knowledge can't now be certified)

Diego,

When exams are in beta, there are typically not very many prep materials available because the exam is out so early.

As a result, I always tell candidates to make sure they have the required experience as indicated on the prep guide, then use that experience, the prep guide, and the MSDN documentation to prepare for the exam.

I successfully registered for 71-511.

Where can I get material to prepare the exam 70-511? There are no official books to buy neither official material to download... and I would really like to learn and pass the beta exam.

Hi Mike,

Where did you see the text where it says to updrade to 4.0 take 70-519? That exam is not an upgrade exam and no, it doesn't cover all those listed certs.

You need to take 70-523 to upgrade from MCPD 3.5 ASP.NET or 3.5 Enterprise.

Hello,

I have mcpd 3.5 Web. To upgrade to 4.0, it says take the 70-519 exam. Does this exam cover all of these:

MCTS: .NET Framework 4, Web Applications

MCTS: .NET Framework 4, Service Communication Applications

MCTS: .NET Framework 4, Data Access???

It appears to be an MCPD 4.0 one has to have 3 MCTS's plus 70-519, which is more like the old enterprise certification.

Am I reading the requirements correctly?

Overall, the number of questions are lower this time around because we will be seeding in new items later this year for the live versions of the exams.
