It is amazing how easy it is to get connected while on the road. Right now I am about 1/3 through my American Roadtrip, sitting in a tent near San Fransisco, using my GPRS phone to connect to the internet. Many places I have been able to use wireless, either free, paid or "borrowed" to keep everyone back home and friends int he US up to speed on my travel. You can read it at http://spaces.msn.com/members/gislio/ if you are interested.
The fun thing I like about using my GPRS is the fact I can surf the network while driving 75 mph. :-) Well my wife has to be driving actually, since using the computer and driving does not go well together.
We are using Microsoft Streets & Trips 2005 to find our way around the USA and so far it has worked excellent - but a more thorough review on that later.
