June has been a busy month for me. With working down at Tech-Ed followed by an awesome family vacation at WDW (Star Wars weekends was really fun) followed by some mobile developer events, I've been buried. I feel like Prince Humperdinck in The Princess Bride - "Tyrone, you know how much I love watching you work, but I've got my country's 500th anniversary to plan, my wedding to arrange, my wife to murder and Guilder to frame for it; I'm swamped!"
Anyway, some of you may have heard that my fellow Atlanta-based developer evangelist Doug Turnure has accepted a job offer in Redmond. He'll be charged with providing all of us (remaining) in the field with fantastic content to present, so when you attend an MSDN Event or other developer event and the content rocks, thank Doug!
Doug has been working wonders with the developer community in Georgia, Alabama and Mississippi since he took on the DE role several years ago. In fact, he's been doing such a good job that I've been able to focus extensively on things like MSDN Events. With Doug's departure, it will now fall to me to be the community liaison for many of you. I've met many of you in various capacities over the years, but now I'm going to have to step it up a bit and ensure we all have a solid connection. Dig it?
As your primary DE going forward, I promise to do my best to be available to you, support the community and events, and connect you with the right resources. There will also no doubt be many times you encounter some of my teammates from the greater Southeast area, including Brian Hitney who covers the Carolinas, and Joe Healy and Russ Fustino who focus on Florida, as well as Brian Johnson who is in a slightly different DE role but still will be awesome to connect with.
During July and August I will be traveling around to meet a lot of the communities here in GA, AL and MS, so I'll be reaching out to many of you to ensure I can plan an effective and logistically successful tour. I look forward to connecting (and reconnecting) with you!
