Record software donations
Microsoft Australia reached new heights with the Software Donation Program last financial year donating more than $42 million dollars’ worth of software to over 2,700 community organisations. This amazing outcome is a 20 percent increase on last year’s already impressive figure.
Microsoft today warned Australians to be wary of a phone scam that has left some victims hundreds of dollars out of pocket.
Scammers are using several well-known brands, including Microsoft, to fool people into believing that something is wrong with their computers.

Stuart Strathdee, Chief Security Advisor for Microsoft Australia, discusses the technology scam targeting Australian residents. The scammers are ringing up consumers pretending to be from Microsoft, saying incorrectly there is a virus in their computer that they allege they can fix.

The Cybersafety Help Button is a new Australian Government initiative designed to keep children and families safe online. It is an online resource that gives children and young people easy access to cybersafety help and information.
