Because the Pittsburgh Microsoft Office 2003 launch event got cancelled, we're running a series of make up events in Pittsburgh to cover the same content. This Tuesday, Jan 20th, we have the Office 2003 launch developer content. You can register here. It's in Microsoft's new office in Pittsburgh at 1:30 PM. There's also an IT Professional Office 2003 event that morning.
Content for the Developer Event
1:30 - 3:00 Using XML in Office 2003
We'll look at how you can use Word 2003 as an XML editor by using a custom XSD schema, build a form using InfoPath 2003, and create an XML-driven web site using FrontPage 2003.
3:15 - 4:45 Developing Solutions using Office 2003 and Visual Studio 2003
We'll take a look at using Visual Studio Tools for Office (VSTO). VSTO allows you to create .NET solutions that act as a “code behind” for Word 2003 or Excel 2003. We'll also take a look at building a custom research service for Office 2003, as well as using the little-known but ultra-powerful IDTExtensibility2 COM interface.
If you're within driving distance of Pittsburgh, I hope to see you there!
