It's finally done. We had a launch event for SQL Server Reporting Services earlier this week. A lot of people are excited, especially because you can add it to an existing (licensed) SQL Server with no additional license fee. I've been playing around with it since beta one. My favorite feature is that it's easy to get started building reports by running the wizard. You can get started and build your first report in a few minutes! Once you get past that point, it's the same Visual Studio environment you're already using.
The goal of SQL Server Reporting Services is to provide a scalable environment where it's easy to develop both traditional and online reports. If you want to know more, I'll be presenting to Central Maryland ASP Professionals on Tuesday, Feb 3rd. They meet in Columbia, MD at 6:30 PM. Perhaps I'll see you there!
