Yukon is the next generation of our SQL Server database product. We expect it to ship sometime late in 2004. We first unveiled it at the PDC last October, and we're still keeping it more or less under wraps until beta one comes out. (For more information, all the PDC sessions are available online.)
Tomorrow (Thursday) at 6:30, the Baltimore SQL Server Users Group has a meeting called “Yukon for DBAs.” Abdy Iman, a SQL Server specialist with Microsoft's Mid-Atlantic District, will give us a sneak peek under the covers and show us some of the new features of Yukon. Next month, I will follow up with “Yukon for Developers,” where I will focus on Yukon's .NET integration, the new .NET managed provider (System.Data.SQLServer), the new XML data type, and the XQuery implementation.
