One of my first tasks on getting back in the saddle was to go to the inaugural meeting of a new user group, Lehigh Valley .NET. Mark Scott, the CTO of Micro Endeavors, gave an awesome presentation on the .NET Application Blocks. The world's biggest picture of Mark Scott is here, although the bio is out of date.
This is a picture of the inaugural meeting. We had about 25 attendees, and we look forward to growing this number over time. The next meeting will be on September 20th, when I will do a presentation called "Everything You Always Wanted To Know About .NET Security But Were Afraid To Ask." We meet at 6:30 PM in the Gates Center at Northampton Community College. There will be tons of giveaways, and Microsoft is buying pizza!
I would like to make a special vote of thanks to Chris Waters, the president of the group. Chris has been instrumental in getting this group started, and is doing an awesome job taking it forward. Thanks, Chris!
There's a message board with more information on the group here.
