Last week I did the August/September MSDN Event content for the first time in Glen Burnie and Bethesda. I cover three topics: Building Custom Server Controls with ASP.NET, InfoPath 2003, and ASP.NET 2.0.
The custom server control session is great for ASP.NET developers who want to start taking things to the next level. If you want to be be able to add new elements into the toolbox, building custom controls is the way to go. It lets you customize the markup your site generates in a reusable way.
The InfoPath 2003 content is pitched at a more introductory level. Many developers haven't seen InfoPath 2003 yet. This is a great pity, as it's a quick and dirty way to do solve all kinds of problems that would otherwise require developing a new application.
Finally, ASP.NET 2.0 is simply amazing. I was awestruck when I went from ASP to ASP.NET. Going from ASP.NET 1.x to ASP.NET 2.0 is just as big a leap. If you come to an MSDN Event we'll give you a DVD with tons of useful material, including a beta copy of Visual Studio 2005 so you can start playing with the technology.
