As announced back in December, we have a number of upcoming Windows Azure events in Australia in February.

We are honoured to have David Chappell joining us to give his expert perspective on the Windows Azure Platform.   David is a very engaging and knowledgeable speaker so these should be “must attend” sessions.

In his presentation, David Chappell looks at the Windows Azure platform and what it means for organisations that create, use, or sell software. The topics he’ll cover include:

  • An overview of the Windows Azure platform: Technology and business model
  • The cloud platform context: Google, Amazon,, and more
  • Using the Windows Azure platform: Application scenarios

His goal is to provide a foundation for thinking about the Windows Azure platform, then offer guidance on how to make good decisions for using it.

At our Sydney event we are also joined by Dianne O’Brien, Senior Director for Business Strategy and Operations in the Windows Azure product team to talk about the delivery of services and a number of target scenarios for Windows Azure.

Places for both the Sydney and Melbourne sessions are very limited so be quick.

For a deeper discussion on developing for Windows Azure, our ex-DPE colleague David Lemphers from the Windows Azure Engineering team is coming home to visit that same week – see Andrew’s post for his packed schedule meeting developers around Australia.
