Microsoft Healthcare Launches New Series of Topical Audio Programs

Microsoft Healthcare Launches New Series of Topical Audio Programs

  • Comments 0
I'm pleased to announce the launch of a new series of audio programs on topics of interest to healthcare IT professionals, healthcare administrators, and clinicians. The program, House Calls for Healthcare Professionals, is available today on www.microsoft.com/healthcare .  The new audiocast series is designed to supplement the articles I have published on our Healthcare and Life Sciences web site under the same banner.

The first House Calls audiocast covers the growing trend in physician-patient messaging and e-mail:

Todays' wired consumers are demanding, and expecting, more from service industries across the board, and they are getting it. They book travel on-line. They're banking on-line. They're buying on-line. And healthcare is no exception. More and more healthcare providers are being asked to communicate with their patients on-line.  What are the trends and opportunities for analog docs in an increasingly digital world? Can doctors actually get paid for doing e-mail?  What are the risks and benefits for your practice?

Guests on the first edition of my House Calls audiocast include:

Dr. Lance Larson, a practicing internist with Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle.

Dr. Giovanni Colella, a physician and CEO of RelayHealth Corporation in Emeryville, CA.

Dr. Matt Handley, a practicing family physician and healthcare executive with Group Health Cooperative in Seattle.

Dr. Roki Chauhan, Vice President for Medical Service and Medical Director of Quality at Premera Blue Cross, Mountlake Terrace, WA.

You can link directly to the program here.

Be watching www.microsoft.com/healthcare and Health Blog for more details on future programs.  Topics for future shows include; Patient Self-Service, Selecting and Implementing an EMR for Your Practice, What’s New in Tablet PCs for Healthcare, Mobility in Healthcare, KPI, Quality and Pay for Performance Initiatives in Healthcare, The Retail Movement in Healthcare, and much, much more.

I hope you enjoy our first show.  Let us know what you think.

Bill Crounse, M.D.   Healthcare Industry Director   Microsoft Healthcare and Life Sciences
