Calling all health industry ICT solution vendors, developers, customers, clinicians and enthusiasts. I’d like to invite you to attend a very special event. It is the 2010 Microsoft Health Users Group Exchange that will be held on the Microsoft campus in Redmond, Washington, September 22 and 23, 2010. Join colleagues from the US, Canada and around the world to learn about the latest developments and opportunities to transform health and healthcare with ICT.
This year it will be my honor to personally welcome you and provide the opening keynote, “From HealthBlog to Health Tech—a global perspective on transforming health”. During my keynote, I’ll share what I’ve seen and learned while working with healthcare organizations, hospitals, clinics, clinicians, health executives, industry partners and others during my many journeys around the world. See how some organizations are lowering costs while improving patient safety, quality and satisfaction with contemporary ICT solutions. Find out why I believe the EMR is just a necessary first step in the journey toward transforming health and healthcare, but “it’s what we do next” that will really make the difference for citizens around the world. Discover why I think commodity IT and the cloud are game changers for the industry. Learn how working with Microsoft and our worldwide ecosystem of industry partners can help you and your organization be more successful in the years ahead.
During the two-day Microsoft HUG event, you’ll be exposed to a myriad of thought-leading speakers from hospitals, health systems, academic medical centers, health organizations, and the vendor community in three different tracks specially designed to your areas of interest. I’ll post a link to the full agenda in the days ahead. In the meantime, I can tell you now about some of the Microsoft internal speakers who will also participate in the Exchange. My colleague Paul Smolke, senior director of industry solutions, will bring you up to date on “Cloud Computing in Healthcare”. Shawn Remacle, director US provider strategy and sales, will discuss the latest nuances in health reform and what you should be doing right now to succeed. Microsoft’s worldwide public sector chief technology officer and innovation guru, Joel Cherkis. will discuss the impact of innovation on the delivery of healthcare.
The Microsoft Health Users Group Exchange is one of the best ways I know to network with peers, tap into some great minds, and discover hidden treasures of opportunity for you and your business. It is also the only HUG event to be held right here on the Microsoft campus. So, if you’ve ever been curious about Microsoft, here’s your opportunity to see and experience our company first hand. Who knows? You might even bump into somebody famous!
