Thanks for sharing. I agree that the way forward does require more heavy lifting from the intelligence of the devices we use--IBM Watson is indeed one such example.

Thanks for your question. Microsoft does not develop or sell EMR solutions directly. We do work with literally hundreds of partners around the world who use our platform, applications, and solutions in developing the electronic medical record solutions they sell. There are many choices on the market. For a small physician office, I would recommend any one of the ONCHIT certified, likely cloud-based solutions that will meet the needs of the physicians you serve.

Keep rolling your eyes. The barrier for entry is too high. I sat near a certain Steve Wozniak on a flight today and thought that he wouldn't be able to do what he did today. Very few companies have the breadth to do what is required. Microsoft will not (too busy with hardware?). Apple will not (too busy with design). Google will not (too busy with data).

But IBM, the company that gave Microsoft it's break, when it felt hardware was the way forward, might. The vision they put forward is compelling.

Thanks for sharing your comment. I agree this will be a major shift for providers. However, I also believe that most of the real-time monitoring and analysis of the longitudinal view will be done by machines, leaving clinicians time to focus on the n=1 of a more personalized, preventive healthcare system.
