Truth be told, I'm not really a "Vegas gal". Smoke bothers me and I don't like to lose money. The things I like to do in Vegas I can do in other places (see shows, eat at nice restaurants), but I have to say that Las Vegas is truly growing on me. Because, despite the baggage issue, I had a lot of fun last week. Part of that was seeing co-workers that I haven't seen in a couple of years and having some really great conversations (so I had a glass of wine in my hand...). Part of why I'm starting to like it more is the proximity of the hotels to the airport. Also, I like the idea of not having to leave the hotel if I dont want to. We stayed at the Hard Rock and no, I didn't leave the hotel during the almost 2 days I was there. I'd be hard pressed to come up with a more convenient location for this type of meeting; one where you don't have to deal with traffic, where everything you need is *right there*.

We ate at Nobu (do yourself a favor and order the black cod...unbelievable), played video poker (I only let myself lose $20 a day because I can rationalize that as an entertainment expense rather than "losing money"..a little conventient, but whatever). We even did a little shopping and hung out at the bar. Not bad for a quick trip.

Our second night there, I finally remembered to bring my camera. Maria might kill me for this, but it made me laugh:
