In an effort to explain the name of my blog

I tried to explain the name of my blog recently and failed miserably at conveying the humor. I should have said "most blogs play on ten, mine's one louder". I guess my stand up career is over. And I also can't explain why I think this is hilarious...

OK, this is just gross but I grew up in Chicago (and LA) and though Wrigley field is my favorite, I had the distinct pleasure of throwing up a hot dog in Kamisky Park (the old one to anyone who dares ask...I'm as old as the hills). It wasn't mixed with...

I wanted to update all 3 of you who care on the progress of my kitchen remodel as well as share with you the fact that I have entered into some extreme, insane nesting ritual that might require someone to pluck me off the street, into a van, and shuffle...

We are getting there. I like the ads for suspicious male and hot male ...ooops, I mean mail. The other 2 don't speak to me as much (the baby one, I don't get at all). Must be because I don't have kids. But I have been both a teenager (yes, that dated...

Every year, at the end of the calendar year, I get a little annoyed at myself. Because I end up with vacation time that I have earned but have not yet used. We can carry over one year's worth of vacation time. For me that is four weeks. Anything beyond...

Some of these are hilarious. If you are easily offended or don't want to be offended, then don't click on the link. Some of you may find some of them in poor taste. But some of them are too funny not to share.

Someone just sent me an e-mail asking about how to leverage a Microsoft employee that is willing to act as a reference for them. Great question. As I write my blog and think about people that might read it, I hope that if they decide to pursue a career...

Sometimes nature amazes me. I don't have to understand it to appreciate it (a theme in my life). And I know not to take credit for it. There is some crazy nature going on in my front yard right now. This is simply my favorite two weeks out of the year...

So the tour dates are wrong and I'm guessing that a lot of the people that know me didn't see this either because it's funny. And we would have talked about it. And we would have talked about why it's funny and then we would have talked about how old...

Over on Pink is The New Blog (oh, I read it, I admit it), Trent is giving away a new pink Zune . It's pretty. I'm sure I can't play, but you can. If you win it, I want to know if it smells like strawberries.

Part of the anxiety around making big expenditures is the fear of the unknown. Will the product meet my expectations? What can go wrong? Will I feel good about having spent this money? As I have mentioned, I've been putting some money into my house...

I guess it doesn't really help you if you are trying to change the world FROM home but Hugh McLeod did this nifty cartoon for Microsoft and he links to Steve Clayton's video explanation of what the deal is with it anyway. My two cents is this.....

I must share some link love with meetup.com (tip: Shafrir ) I'm not currently looking for a new job (but as you know, I like getting the calls...always good to know what's going on out there). But if I were, this is the kind of thing that would work...

I thought this was interesting. Editor writes article critical of Apple. CEO censors it. Editor quits. CEO is demoted. Editor is reinstated. Perhaps advertising and editorial should not know what the other is doing. Or perhaps the CEO needs to be a journalist...
