Mike-I wasn't referring to an "issue". But thanks for pointing out that I have one ; ) I'm interested in living a comfortable and enjoyable life. That means more than satisfying my basic "needs"...is that so wrong?

Christian...OK, that pretty much sums it up. It also reminds me of my obsession with the perfect pillows (formerly referred to as the Marriott pillows...I got them and they are as good as I expected). I'll have to add that movie to my Netflix queu ; )

This armchair psychologist would say your issue isn't the rush from purging. Your issue is your consumption of items you clearly do not need.
