But you are missing the main hook to get people in is by not including it on the Main Microsoft Page...kind of a lets look at a Microsoft Employee and Thier jobs and yes this position is availibe. Possibly right under the left panel link for Careers. Does not have to be a big picture.

Example- Put a picture of you being in the HR section. A brief description of your job. Under that you have a quick personal quote. With a link that says something like- Think you want to work with me apply here now link. That link would lead to the carreers page with more descriptions and qualifications as well as contact info to apply for the postition.

re: Q & A

Re: Jeremy's question about updating contact info. Both submitting a resume with a new address AND making the change in your career profile will get your info updated in the system. It's quicker to change it in your profile since you don't have to wait for someone to upload the change. But we don't really mail that much out anyway. If your phone or e-mail address changes, I;d recommend making the change ASAP via the career profile.

re: Q & A

Grecthen let me know that there are other development teams in international locations. Sorry, I don't mean to make broad statements about other kinds of recruiting at MS, just marketing ; ) Gretchen agreed to come in here and set me straight.

re: Q & A

Jeremy C. Or does it pull it from the Career Profile?

re: Q & A

Another great question. Yes, we do store multiple copies of resumes for different positions. So for example, if you wanted to do one resume for marketing and one for business development, we would keep both on file for you. That way, when a recruiter does key word searches, they would pick up the resume that most closely matches the position they are recruiting on.

Good idea to submit them with different document names though. If you send the same resume for different jobs, we will not re-scan. Only resumes that are different.

re: Q & A

Great post Heather!

A fairly simple question: Most applicants have multiple copies of resumes for different types of jobs. How does it work if you put a different resume in for a different position? Does your one copy get over-written by the newer one? Are multiple copies tracked?

Is information simply CVS-style compared?

Just curious :)
