Duncan - read the first paragrah. I am not a fan of this time of year and I am only writing from my perspective; nobody else's.

You know, I didn't really feel like I was channeling negativity when I wrote this but I could see how someone that wasn't familiar with me, my sense of humor and my blog would see it that way. I'm not trying to get an anti-Christmas riot together. Just expressing my perspective. I'm not a negative person, but perhaps I use my sense of humor to realease that little bit I have here.

There is a lot of negativity in this post for someone wanting peace and calm :)

I don't do religion but I have no issues with those around me who want to. I do not know if you have kids, but they change Christmas for you. I love Christmas day with the kids. Maybe I do not get into the middle of Christmas leading up to it for it to bother me.. I do 95% of my non food shopping online and rarely mix with the crazy people.

If you keep Christmas simple, it is a fun time. Most people I know make the holidays complicated. They have these huge expectations, plan for a small army and come out of it exhausted.

I can always channel some extra snark for the blog. I just don't take it as seriously as I did before. And yes, I am totally in a good/happy mind/body place. I'd tell you that I don't know where it came from but it's taken a lot of hard work. And totally worth it! Now when I say "whee!" it's coming from a less sarcastic place.

lol - I often tell people my belief system is somewhere in between Christianity and Buddhism!

I've been following your blog for almost 5 years now (crazy how time flies!!!) and you do seem to be more relaxed / happier in recent times, which is great! I wouldn't lose too much snarkiness though, it's part of your charm! ;)
