I have just been installing SQL Server 2009 onto my Windows 7 (Ultimate) and Server 2008 (Hyper-V) machines and got a message about the install unable to find a window handle and an issue notice with SQL Server install on those platforms.

It turns out that I forgot to “Run as Administrator” which fixes the first matter. For the second matter – do yourself a favour and download SQL Server 2008 SP1 *BEFORE* you start installing and keep it handy!

…you probably know this already, but it wasn’t in the documentation…that I saw… :)
