As you have probably heard, we are releasing a new product in 2006 called Windows Compute Cluster Server 2003. (yes, it is weird to have 2003 in the name of a product released in 2006). It is a product for high performance computing scenarios. Think Beowulf clusters for Windows and you've got the idea. Here’s what BillG had to about this effort from Microsoft at Supercomputing ’05 - http://www.microsoft.com/billgates/speeches/2005/11-15SuperComputing05.asp .
I'll be using this blog to post information about Compute Cluster Server (CCS). There will be generic HPC information as well as tips/tricks specific to CCS.
We're very excited to bring out a new product for HPC. We think we'll be able to unlock a bunch of scenarios that will enable "personal supercomputing". Try it yourself by going to http://connect.microsoft.com and sign up to download CCS Beta 2.
