Obligatory introduction blog post.

My name is Ian Halliday. My full name is Ian William James Halliday. I like that I have two middle names. People who know me well know that I like having two middle names. If only I was knighted or obtained a doctorate or was the 2nd or 3rd or 4th in a line of Ian Hallidays, or better, all of these. Sir Dr. Ian William James Halliday III. Doesn’t that sound awesome?

Okay, enough about my long name. I’m from a suburb of Toronto, Ontario called Markham. Lived there all my life until I moved to Waterloo for school. I graduated from the University of Waterloo with a Bachelors of Mathematics in Computer Science and an Applied Mathematics minor in 2007. I then moved to the Seattle area (ugh, living in Bellevue) to take up a job at Microsoft working on the C# compiler as a Software Engineer.

It is nearly two years later and here I am, still working on C#, trying to get this VS 2010 all ready to go.
