With the recent pricing announcements for Visual Studio Team System there has been a lot of confusion and some unhappiness about the pricing and feature set for the various tiers of Visual Studio. This article is written by someone (Eric Sink) outside of Microsoft giving his take on the matter. I thought this article was worth posting, since in today’s world of corporate blogging, I think people would pay more attention to an article written by someone not in Microsoft’s employ. It does a good job of explaining how VSTS fits in with the other Visual Studio products and who VSTS is aimed at. If you want pricing info from an insider, check out Rob Caron’s posts or the interview with Rick LaPlante.
