We received some good questions about how the JScript engine works in IE.
There was an interesting comment from Jim in December on this blog where he asked if we support the Content-Script-Type header and meta element as described in the HTML 4.01 specification. This is good feedback and certainly something we may wish to get to in the future. However as no other browser implement this or implement multiple scripting languages at this time we will be concentrating on other more pressing issues with our support for standards in the foreseeable future.
Hopefully this clarifies a little about out support for scripting engines. While we are on the topic it’s also worth reminding people of a previous post on this blog on script debugging in IE.
Thanks-Dave
