&lt;p&gt;When #2 occurs, the page begins to render in standards mode, then automatically refreshes in the middle in IE7 mode. &amp;nbsp;#2 is never meant to be encountered in the wild (and we fixed the significant majority of these after RC1) so if you can provide the URL of your site, we'd love to have a look. &amp;nbsp;thanks!&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The first page that I tested on my site forced itself into compat mode, even though it rendered better in standards mode, and I have no idea why it went into compat mode in the first place.&lt;/p&gt;
