Inspite of what most people think, yes I do have an outside life(albeit a minimal one).  Whatever semblance of time I manage to scrape together, I often find myself in a mindless fervor,  trying to stay the least bit productive. Sure, I can pepper my time and innundate myself with a bunch of Japanese animation cartoons on Adult Swim(one of my crowning achievements in high school no less) but honestly I do need a better way to pass my time. So... what did I do??

I joined a semi-pro amateur football league.... and no, its not the San Jose Sabercats.

It was probably two years ago that I picked up an issue of Sports Weekly and saw an article talking about how a bunch of men up in Montana couldn't let go of their high school glory days and hence therefore put together their own football league. Now, its by no stretch a competitor of the NFL, in fact when the landscape is ruled by 195 pound offensive lineman and the occassional Asian runningback, by no means are they going to be challenging the New England Patriots for supremacy.

However, I did have a chance to try out for the East Bay Outlaws in mid-December and luckily I had enough to actuallyo make the team. (for season tickets contact Jeff Lin at jeflin@microsoft.com) Just two weeks ago we had a quad team scrimmage with some teams based out in Sacramento, Manteca, Modesto, and a bunch of those valley places. I've really forgotten how I dont' really quite fit into the football mold, considering I''m often times the smallest guy on the field. But hey, what do I know and care, here's some pics...

Go Small Asian guy, you keep running!(That's me by the way)

Trying to gain on the QB, yup, I'm all pads...

My jersey was ripped the first day of practice, so I have to tie it everytime I play...

So anyhow, yup, that's what I do every Saturday. So if you guys wanna come out, our home games are at Freedom High School in Oakley, CA. I think tickets are like 2 bucks, but if I know you, I'm just gonna give you season tickets.  Just remember to buy your East Bay Outlaws #12 Replica Jeff Lin jerseys! hahahaha
