What possesses 350+ people to venture out at 7:30 a.m. on a Saturday morning with temperatures in the single digits (or below)? No, the iPad isn’t available yet in stores… so it has to be Data Camp V2 (AKA SQL Saturday #34) held this past weekend at the Microsoft Office on Jones Road in Waltham, MA.
Actually official attendance numbers aren’t known. According to organizers Adam Machanic (New England SQL Server User Group) and Grant Fritchey (Southern New England SQL Server User Group), the registration desk ran out of attendee bags after the first 300 showed, but those arriving after that point were treated to the same great sessions and content. Registration was just shy of 500, and it certainly felt like the biggest event I’ve been at in the Waltham office. The event even stretched over two floors, with one set of sessions being held in the conference room on the first floor of the Waltham Weston Corporate Center.
Statistics looked something like this
