A new group focused on mobile development with the .NET platform is kicking off on Wednesday evening at 6 p.m. at the New England Research and Development Center (aka NERD) in Cambridge.
If you’re thinking this is all about Windows Phone 7 development, you’d be only partially correct! The .Common Language Infrastructure (CLI) on which the .NET Framework is based as well as the C# language itself are ECMA specifications, and through products like MonoTouch and Mono for Android, you can leverage your investment and target devices in multiple mobile ecosystems. So look for this group to explore development for iOS and Android using frameworks like MonoTouch as Mono for Android in addition to Windows Phone 7 development via Visual Studio.
