Is there anyway we can install a cert dynamically without manual work, after the Azure Role VM started running? I dont have the cert ready during the role startup task

I just typed 123 on the password field and azure has accepted my upload

And once again I've commented too quickly. Adding a password to the conversion will let you upload the certificate through the Azure portal. However, when you deploy you will get the error:

Certificate with thumbprint [THUMBPRINT] associated with HTTPS input endpoint [ENDPOINT_NAME] does not contain private key.

I jumped too quickly on the comment. The answer is simple, ammend byte[] certData = cert.Export(X509ContentType.Pkcs12); to byte[] certData = cert.Export(X509ContentType.Pkcs12,@"YOUR_PASSWORD_HERE");

Has anyone found a way to make converting the CER to a PFX work without a password? Or does someone have a way to add a password to the PFX at conversion?

It seems this information is out of date. Converting the CER to a PFX will not work anymore because Azure does not allow you to upload a PFX that does not use a password.

Certificate management for Azure leaves a lot to be desired. It has been the one thing preventing us from deploying and we have been working on it with MS support for well over a week now.
