With this post we will give you our suggested way to install the October CU and with that to be at the latest binaries we currently delivered.

 

  • Have all needed language packs installed!

  • Have SP1 installed for WSS and MOSS and for each installed language pack the corresponding WSS and MOSS language pack SP1.

With 11/Nov/2008 I rewrote a couple of next steps to make it easier what to do. Thanks to a Hungarian and US colleague to get also this matrix of available fixes.

DLC means Document LifeCycle Workflow.

  • Install August Cumulative Update for WSS language specific KB957109

  • Install August Cumulative Update for MOSS DLC language specific Workflow KB955586
    Remark: Only the "English" version available but that is the right step to install this fix.

  • Install October Cumulative Update for WSS Global KB957691

  • Install October Cumulative Update for MOSS Global KB957693

  • Install October Cumulative Update for MOSS language specific KB958567

  • Install October Cumulative Update for MOSS DLC Global Workflow KB958569
