The response was interesting. There were a couple ignorant slashdotters who chimed in with the used sore looser crap.
Mostly though, I got reminded how smart

re: After a weekend with Vista

My laptop was stolen a few days ago and i just purchased a new one, it came with windows vista home basic installed and 80gb harddrive,512mb ram

the widows opened in slow motion,,after checking performance it says there is not enough ram to run os, i deleted everything that could be deleted including the security which freed up 1/3 space and the windows a loading a little faster.I also tried to install some software and was given a messege that it was not compatible with windows nt 6.0

My personal opinion of windows vista is it was overloaded with too many features and the computer manufaturers dont seam to understand what is required for vista to run properly.

I will be returning my laptop in a few day and purchasing something without an os or with linux or apple.

after dealing with vista basic and things still dont work properly.

there should be a downgrade for unsatisfied customers to xp home which would make a lot of people happy that is frustrated now.
