The last couple of hours have been a bit stressful as I wrestled with problems with speech recognition not actually working on my laptop. My demo app worked perfectly until I tried to speak to it - when instead it decided to continue listening and never actually return any results.

Not quite what you want from a speech application demo.

In the end it turned out to be a corrupted Speech Profile - I think I must have responded incorrectly to a popup message box from Office last night and was left without any speech recognition at all. Creation of a new profile did the trick and my demo is back on track (if a little long).

Right now I'm going to head down to the booth to see how they're doing and make sure everything is working. Doors open in 90 minutes...
