I have .Net 3.5 SP1 installed on the victim machine. I am trying to apply the patch and it gives an error "KB2504602 does not apply, or is blocked by another condition on your computer".... This means .Net 4.0 is required for this patch.

I have downloaded "NDP40-KB2504602-x86.exe" as I have windows xp machine & windows server 2003 machine.

Do you have any idea about that?

Sakamoto, Have you been able to identify the root cause of the problem as described in my original post? It is possible that there is some other issue occuring that is manifesting itself in a similar manner.

Hi JonCole,

I am victim of Case 1: An error occurred while dispatching a duplicated socket: this handle is now leaked in the process.

My service is hosted in Windows Service & using Net TCP Connection (using Net.TCP Port Sharing service). once in a day(specially in the morning), my WPF Client application can not connect to Server & the only work around is restart my WCF Service (not Net.TCP Port Sharing service). When this happens i check Server's Event Viewer log and i found the error description "An error occurred while dispatching a duplicated socket: this handle is now leaked in the process." Please share your thoughts on this ...

Even installing this hotfix the problem is still occurring. Have any ideia?

I was able to confirm that SP2 is required. If you have further questions, the site support.microsoft.com/lifecycle has information about the Support Lifecycle for Microsoft products

The KB article (support.microsoft.com/.../2504602) seems to imply that SP2 is required. I will check with some folks and get back with you.

Will it work on Windows Server 2008 Standart x64 SP1? I wasn't able to install any of available versions on it.

How long does it take for your service to start up in the domain-joined scenario? Could you be running into case #3 I mentioned above? The best way to know for sure is to have w3wp.exe run under a debugger and break when any System.IO.PipeException is thrown (e.g. on "first chance exception"). You can then examine the stack traces of all the threads in the application to look for clues as to what is happening inside of ASP.Net.
