&lt;p&gt;How may I have the validation to display the yellow triangle like MS. Like the BuildSettings display that when they are no projects to compile. I&amp;#39;m creating a custom Settings class and I want to give some feedback when some parameters are invalid or missing. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Will having them in the custom assemblies version control path for the build controller satisfy the local probing path requirement since Team Explorer will download custom assemblies from there as well?&lt;/p&gt;
